The Master of Management is a professional qualification, designed to increase students business knowledge to help them move up the hierarchy of their career or to help them make a career change.
Now available to complete in a shorter time (one year)
There is the ability in some specialisations (endorsements) to complete their study in just one calendar year instead of 18 months. This is available if students study the Master of Management at the Manawatū campus and complete their final course (Part Two) over Summer School.
Course Structure
Candidates for the Master of Management shall follow a parts-based course of study, which shall consist of courses totalling at least 180 credits comprising:
- Part One and Part Two as defined by the Schedule to the Degree;
- At least 60 credits at 800 level;
- And including:
- Except as provided under Regulations 3 and 5, the core courses listed in Schedule A;
- Completion of a subject as specified in Schedule B;
- Attending field trips, contact workshops, studios, workshops, tutorials, and laboratories as required
Notwithstanding the Regulation above, the course of study for candidates admitted under Regulation 1(c) will consist of courses totalling at least 120 credits from a single subject in the Schedule to the Degree, including Part Two as specified. For such candidates the degree will be awarded without a subject. The duration of the 120 credit MMgt programme is one year full-time study, up to a maximum of 4 years part-time study.
Master of Management regulations are to be read in conjunction with all other Statutes and Regulations of the University including the General Regulations for Postgraduate Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates.
